Louis-XIII Château in Sancerrois

This well-preserved and very spacious Château dates back to the XVIth century. Situated in a woods and meadows environment, it was home to the many secret stories of major French and Scottish families. All overlooking the park, the rooms and bathrooms were completely renovated. Each living room and bedroom has its own history and personality: drapery and period furniture, canopy beds, to music in the bathrooms.

Specific period style finishings of this property include ornamental staircase, pierre de bourgogne floors, panelled parquet floors, oak parquet floors, marble ornamental chimney pieces, period style rooms, ornamental wall panels, ornamental wall panels in oak.

The Château (Louis-XIII style) is situated just outside a village in the Sancerrois area, (Cher, near Paris: 200km). It dates from the XVIth century, in a park/estate of 10ha.

Plan of the Château

The Château's layout is as follows:

- The vast entrance hall leads to 7 salons and 2 kitchens on the Rez-de-Chaussée. Each salon and hallway has either boiseries or wall-tissus.

- The first étage is accessed via a winding, stone, two flight stairway, featuring 17th century tread lengths, leading to a gallery spanning the full width of the Château. It gives access to 10 ensuite rooms and 2 staircases leading to the second étage and attic space.

- The second étage has 3 ensuite rooms, and 2 large attics (can be easily converted).
